• "Marie Louise King Reed

  Fort Pierce, Fla. – Marie Louise King Reed, 87, formerly of Dana, died Monday, Oct. 26, after a short illness. A native and longtime resident of Henderson County, she was the wife of the late Allen E. Reed who died in 1970. She was a charter member of the Henderson County Curb Market where she sold produce and crafts for 52 years. She was a Baptist.

  Reed is survived by her three daughters, Ruth Esther Thompson of Hendersonville, Jennie Mae Warren of Dana and Margie M. Barnwell of Fort Pierce, Fla.; her son, William A. Reed of Balsam Grove; one brother, Willie A. King of Homestead, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

  Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shepherd's Church Street Chapel. Burial will follow Kings Grove Cemetery.

  The family will recieve friends 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Home, and at other times at the residence of Ruth Thompson, 1954 Cambridge Drive.
